On June 6, 2026, the Swiss Museum & Center for Electronic Music Instruments (SMEM) will host a special concert by Jimmy Virani, a noted French musician and co-author of the first practical guide to the theremin in the French language. Having dedicated nearly 20 years to studying this instrument, Virani will take the audience on an immersive sonic journey that bridges analog synthesis and digital soundscapes. The evening’s program features performances on two exceptionally rare and expressive instruments — the theremin and the ondioline. This is a unique chance to hear the legendary instruments from the museum’s vast collection, which holds around 5,000 exhibits, played live.
