LINA GERVASI<\/strong> graduated brilliantly in flute and later qualified as a teacher. She has participated in various masters of Discographies, as well as courses of Musical propaedeutics and Informatics. In addition, she has attended courses of Higher artistic specialization, playing as First Flute and Piccolo, under the direction of Conductor International fame. Moreover, she has undertaken an intense solo, chamber and orchestral concert activity. She has distinguished herself in numerous national and international soloist contests, for <\/span>chamber and orchestral groups. Since 2011 she has been teaching music and flute at State Comprehensive Institutes with a musical orientation. She performs shows in LIS (Italian Sign Language) «music without limits» describing it through <\/span>colours, shapes <\/span>and gestures. Her dream to create a musical duet the \u201cSynth Melody\u201d came true just one year ago. This important project and her great passion for music <\/span>has allowed Lina to realize the ambition to let everyone know the beauty of the Theremin, a marvelous and unique musical instrument that is played without being touched. The peculiarity of the duet is to use the theremin in a wide musical repertoire such as jazz, blues, pop, rock, light music as well as electronic music. The \u201cSynth Melody\u201d, with their ability to spread the musical culture in all its forms, <\/span>have been rewarded many times by great artists and producers. Above <\/span>all they are achieving <\/span>a significant success in the music scene. How would you describe Clara Rockmore\u2019s creativity during her anniversary?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Clara Rockmore, despite <\/span>of her illness <\/span>forcing her to abandon the study of the violin, was able to express the full value and culture of music, becoming the best theremin player in the world. Thanks to Clara Rockmore we have achieved the execution technique, based on the movement of the fingers and the hand. She allowed the precision of sounds and the speed of execution even in the quickest steps.<\/span><\/p>\n

What prompted you to play the theremin? <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I love making music without limits and without restrictions … I love making music for and with my deaf friends describing it through colors, movements <\/span>and gestures … That’s why I have been fascinated by this wonderful instrument that allows us to produce sounds without touching it and without visual reference, making us free.<\/span><\/p>\n

What were your feelings at first when you heard the sounds of theremin and where did it happen?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Just a year ago, after watching a video on youtube, I decided to buy the theremin. I had already listened to it and appreciated its sound thanks to Led Zeppelin. I immediately fell in love with the theremin and the idea of being able to produce sounds through the movement of the hands, inside a magnetic field radiated by two antennas, fascinated me.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is your musical philosophy and what place does the theremin occupy in your life? <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Music is everywhere … you just need to have a little imagination … This is the musical philosophy of my life. The goal of every artist\/musician is to reach the deepest feelings inside the listener, creating emotions. It all begun one year ago when I decided to approach <\/span>to theremin and feel free to move within the \u201cmagnetic field\u201d that was attracting me.<\/span><\/p>\n

What do you think about the prospects for the theremin and its place in the modern music scene? For what qualities do you appreciate this musical instrument?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I consider the Theremin a wonderful instrument because it allows you to cover all the musical genres. I think it represents the Future of Music, despite being the first electronic instrument in history. I believe that the theremin has great opportunities of being used in modern music. The ability to make audible any free movement in the air makes it unique.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"LinaWhich producer of theremin do you prefer? <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Currently, I play the Ethermwave Ether of the Moog and I will soon join it an Etherwave Pro.<\/span><\/p>\n

What do you recommend to new thereminists? <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I would like to recommend to everyone not to dwell, at first, too much on the technique of the hands as that could be boring. Instead, they should imagine and describe the music through their heart and the free movement of hands within the magnetic field.<\/span><\/p>\n
